About Huthwaite - Meet Our People

Peter Belsey - Business Director for Financial & Professional Services

Peter has spent his entire career in financial and professional services. Before joining Huthwaite he qualified as an accountant and worked with Ernst & Young for nine years, in the Audit Division and the Training Department. He is one of Huthwaite’s most experienced consultants and over the past twenty years has designed and managed the successful implementation of many Huthwaite behaviour change projects with a wide range of major insurance, banks and professional services groups. During his first ten years he developed expertise across the full range of Huthwaite capabilities both as trainer and account manager. In 2001 he was invited to take up one of four newly created posts, as sector head for financial services. The aim of this role was to develop business in this sector, including an international reach across the growing network of licensees. In 2008 Huthwaite formed a joint venture with Ridley Fleming, to strengthen our presence and expertise in the legal sector. Peter was part of the team that brought the two companies together and is now Business Director for Financial & Professional services.


Peter was a key player in the design, pilot, and client trialling of Huthwaite's Effective Social Influencing programme which is now one of our generic offerings. He led to market one of Huthwaite's newer projects, the SPIN® and Account Strategy Toolboxes. Peter is also Huthwaite's main representative in the Management Consultancies Association, which Huthwaite joined in January 2011.


Peter is an experienced conference speaker and has presented at many client conferences and a range of external conferences, from the Life Insurance Association to the Managing Partners' Forum annual conferences. He has had many articles published in financial and professional publications, from Investor Weekly to Accountancy Age and The Financial Times. He has also served on judging panels for the National Sales Awards and on the Managing Partners' Forum Awards.
